I'm learning to play frisbee golf 05/16/2012
 We like to play at the beautiful Emshoff Nature Preserve, which has a decent frisbee golf course set up~ Look at thaat! Playing in bucolic splendor, here!  total noob I decided to learn to play using both arms, not just one side, because I didn't want to have one buff, cut, toned arm and one wimpy wuss arm. let the hilarity and hijinks commence Bill's throwing arm is out of wack, so he's throwing with his opposite arm, too! As you can see, we're doing awfully well! :D  "do you hear a buzzing?" This hive of bees seemed to enjoy the spectacle of us playing~ Luckily, our discs didn't go into their tree!  Did I mention how beautiful it is there? Even when the sun scooted behind some casting clouds, it was still gorgeous! Add Comment Upcycling 04/26/2012
At the rental I used to live in, I had an old tire cluttering up my pocket-handkerchief lawn. In our area, the garbage men wouldn't take tires, and I couldn't figure out a way to get rid of it. So I got creative, and this is what I did! ~ Right-click to download~  ArtPlay 04/10/2012
 I've been doing just-for-fun, free-flowing, rather slapdash art ~ despite their casual mood, they're all the persistent kind that won't leave me alone till I get them down on paper!  freedom! It doesn't matter if it's to be done slap-dash and just for my enjoyment~ these pictures are clambering to get out of my mind and onto the paper in a burst of expressive color!~ Just like any art-y vision~ it takes hold and doesn't let go.  merightnow None of these illustrations seem to give a hoot whether they're going to be deemed 'worthy' or not, in the world, which was such a relief! ~ They just insist to BE, with a hummy certainty in their own worthiness as expressions of me-right-now!  When we went to Mammoth Cave for Bill's birthday, we met up with this vibrant lady, and heard her story~ She said that she's always dreamed of owning her own flea market, and now she has it~ her dream has come true! So, when she saw the "Fairy Tales Do Come True" sign at one of her vendors' stalls, she knew she had to have it! She bought it and hung it up above her office and relishes the sight of it everyday. She's living her dream everyday!~ So great to meet people like this!  I had a couple of little dreams come true, myself~ just a little wish or two came to fruition, as easy and effortless and silky as chiffon pie... One wish fulfilled was in getting to go to Mammoth Cave with Bill (on his Special 45th BDay, yet!)! I found out early on in our relationship that he LOVES caves, and I daydreamed about how nice it would be to go on this romantic little trip together. Wish fulfilled!  The next thing was getting some rock glass~ a surprise/gift from Bill! I had mentioned, just in passing, a few days before his birthday that I'd wanted some slag glass for my garden, after seeing a photo somewhere like that, but had been unable to track any down. He remembered all the shops around Mammoth Cave that sold them. So, not saying anything about it, he arranged this trip with me, letting me think that it was going to be all about his birthday wish to go to Mammoth Cave! When I saw all those hundreds of rocks sparkling in the sun, I believe I let out one of those high-pitched squeals that dogs counties away can hear....  It was a beautiful day and a lovely trip~ we can't wait to go back! I myself think that as a workout, the cave tours can't be beat~ the one we went on, went ON for about 2 hours, with over 200 steps going down down down~ Plus tons of walking around and around the cool local shops, beforehand! But I was so interested in everything around me, I only noticed momentarily that my legs were shaking. Forgot all about it in an instant, everything was so fascinating! And for DAYS afterwards, my butt muscles felt like they'd all bunched up tight to my spine!!~ Now, that's a great workout! Soaking up inspiration 02/22/2012
What next? Something? Nothing?  My life is shifting in mosiac patterns lit by interior sunlight  I sit in that silence until it begins to sparkle   The Wolf Full Moon is the most meaningful moontime to me, because I was born in January and my maiden name was “Wolfe”. And I’ve always had a hunger, a passion, an enthusiasm for life. (This photo was taken on my birthday, Epiphany) 
I'm wanting more Shabby Chic! ~ my cat, Aster loves my new Shabby Chic sheets as much as I do! I'm longing for my tribe~ that group of people who resonate with my art and my offerings~ that group that will take time, patience, years to find me. This art piece was inspired by a poem by Terri Maue I want more magic ~ this baby unicorn statue by Indigo-Ocean is perfect, exquisite, pure magic! I crave more solitude worked naturally into my day ~ the prayer labyrinth in the photo is a favorite place to go for that. I want more free time ~ with Bill! (Mackers knows how to carpe diem with the best of 'em!)  put on a scent or fragrance that you enjoy Maybe one that's been stashed away for "Special Occasions". Well, this is it! The Ultimate Special Occasion. Live it. Smelling good. (I wore "Cool Water for Women" on my birthday)  if it's a beautiful, gorgeous, unseasonably-warm-for-wintry-january-in-le-ohio-valley kind of day, go for a walk in a sweet park with your sweetie. (The weather on my bday was about 54F, bright and sunny~ a perrrrrfect day)  don't depend on others to make you happy* Plan on buying your own perfect-for-you present! follow 'the inscrutable exhortations of your soul' Something you are unaccountably drawn to for no good reason is the ideal self-gift ~ who else would dare buy you a monstre sacre? (A heavy wooden dragon with a cheerful countenance, perhaps.) After all, any sage can tell you that real love exists free of any reason! Exception to rule*: if you have a wonderful sweetie in your life who sympathizes with your strange, unaccountable attraction to heavy wooden dragons and insists on buying it for you, let him. bonus if he carries heavy wooden dragon around the flea market for you! high-five self for attracting such a great guy!  obtain library copies of book and/or dvd you've been wanting to watch. (A Shabby Chic dvd and "Romantic Prairie Style" book for me) have mercy Also get dvd of "True Grit" so boyfriend has something to Re-Guy on ~ something to help get his testosterone levels back up after forced viewing of girly decorating show.  go to a favorite, special restaurant for bday dinner Log Cabin Inn. (here's a photo of the original stone stairs) order and eat, for the very first time, a Kentucky Hot Brown. have ecstasies over wondrous hot brown taste. salute Kentucky for inventing such a dish.  have as much fun as possible on your Beautiful day, friend!  It's about to be a new year, and my new love is settling into it's next stage~ that fun, evolving, lasting stage of love. When the "crazy-in-love" feeling gives way to the burnished gold of the "real love" understanding. When you start seeing the real person behind the bright blasting light of infatuation. The infatuation at your new + thrilling discovery of this wonderful person! It helped that we were close, before. It helped that I could See his essence, that I could recognize his true, inner being, and had an instinctive understanding of HIM, the real him.   My job in all of this is to recognize and value the good in him~ to see it and let it count for more than any flaws that emerge in my view. To acknowledge the flaws and forgive them and set them aside as not worthy of my notice, next to all the wonders in him that honor his true self. The good should always be more powerful and compelling and important than the negative!  That's how to keep love alive. Love and beauty and all that's good in the world around us.
